Digital business card: a complete guide
A digital business card is your contact details on a web page with its own short link and QR code. People open it on their phone and save you to their contacts in one tap. Nothing gets lost in a pocket, and it's never out of date.
How a digital business card works
Your card lives at a short address, like zap.contact/yourname. You share that address as a QR code, through an NFC sticker or card, or as a link in a text, email or social profile.
The person you meet opens it in their phone's browser and taps Save contact. Your name, number, email, company, website and social profiles go straight into their contacts on iPhone or Android. They don't need an app or an account.
What to put on your card
Your name, job title and company, one phone number and one email are enough to start. Add your website, address and the social profiles you actually use, such as LinkedIn or Instagram.
A logo or a background photo makes the card recognizable. Keep it to what you'd want a new contact to have: everything on the card is saved to their phone.
One person, more than one card
Many people keep a work card and a personal card: company details for clients, social profiles for friends. With Zap you can make several cards and swipe between them before you share.
Digital and paper together
Paper cards still help at a trade show or on a counter. Print your card with its QR code on the back, so anyone with a paper copy can still save your current details in one tap.
